Unfortunately our time in Jerusalem came to a close this morning. We managed to squeeze in one more stop before heading for the Jordan River and beyond. Our guide had the driver stop at Mt. Scopus for us to get a panoramic view of Jerusalem. It was great! You could see Temple Mount in the distance, Mount of Olives etc.

The advernture continues - tomorrow Golan Heights, Safed and wine tasting.
After saying farewell, we arrived in a relatively short period of time at Bet She'an. This was an ancient city dating back to King Saul. The remains included a hot and cold bathhouse, the columns of the main shopping street and the coliseum. It was unseasonably hot in Israel today - lovely! But it was still amazing. Everything they have discovered and continue to discover. We were taken back to the bus by an amusement park tram, which was nice because of the breeze it created.
The group's next stop was the baptismal site of Yardenit.
Our group had lunch at St. Peter's Restaurant and headed to Capernaum, an age-old fishing village. This was the home base for Jesus' Galilean ministry. The synagogue remains, Peter's house remains and additional excavation sites are part of the complex.
